Elements of Self Care specializes in offering much needed support for those suffering from traumatic loss and grief, such as the death of a loved one (including by suicide or accidental/untimely death), workplace bullying and resulting loss of employment, life threatening illness, impending loss of life issues, pet loss, and other forms of grief.

Loss is often regarded as “untimely” or “tragic.” In actuality, it’s the unspoken eventuality that we all avoid processing until the moment strikes and affects our own lives. Coping with loss can leave you with an overwhelmingly helpless feeling that is unshakable, leaving you feeling empty, powerless, and in deep grief. Sometimes grief doesn’t move through as we would’ve expected, sometimes it lingers longer than it does for other, and sometimes the emotions are intense years later that you almost feel like you’re relapsing the grief.

 

How We Help

Through guided sessions, we’ll work with you to process and shift your mindset back toward productive, beneficial, and rejuvenating thought patterns. The important part is in recognizing and embracing the impermanence of life. This impermanence will both help you move through the period of grief and focus inward on its profound impact on you while also shifting your mindset toward future death or loss. As one of the hallmarks of grief is the loneliness of it, it’s critical to remember that grief is a completely normal psychological process.
